What it really Takes to Lose Weight Today

To lose weight you must eat lower in calories than your body uses. Calories are theamount of energy in the foods you eat. Some foods have more calories than others. For example, foods that are high in fat and sugar are high also in calories. If you eat morecalories than your body uses, the extra calories are stored as body fat.

One pound of fat is about 3,500 calories. To lose 1 pound of fat a week, you have to eat3,500 calories less (ie 500 fewer calories a day), or you have to "burn" an extra 3,500 calories. You can burn calories with exercise or simply being more active. (Talk to your doctor before starting any exercise program. Your physician can help you determine what type of exercise program are appropriate for you.)

The best way to lose weight and stay fit is to eat fewer calories and physical activity. If you cut 250 calories in your diet each day and exercise enough to burn 250 calories, which adds up to 500 calories less a day. If you do this for 7 days, you can lose one pound of fat a week.

Most experts believe you should not try to lose more than 2 pounds per week. To lose more than 2 pounds in a week usually means you are losing water and down muscle mass instead of losing excess fat. If you do this, you will have less energy, and mostlikely gain weight.

Why We Eat The Good Fatty Foods And Some Fast Food Facts

"I'm hungry, what's to eat?"
We all share this same cry, but when your trying to cut the pounds, it's not easy.  I love quick foods that I can pop in the microwave or drive by and pick up to eat while I'm driving on my way to work or running errands.  While its not healthy in any way and will only add to the weight that I'm trying to lose, I do it anyway.  Why? Because its taste so good! It's like, why can't everything on McDonald's Menu taste good and be super healthy for you.  They would make even more money that way.

I would love our health studies to say that 'by eating one Big Mac each day will make you have a healthy heart and you'll feel great the rest of your day'.  Well, we all know that is not the case. There is 540 Calories in 1 Big Mac, Total Fat in this tasty sandwich is 29 and the Sodium is a whopping 1040.  Enjoy your meal! Hello fat, I'm over here!

They can't help that we love to buy the tasty foods, but we should educated ourselves with the facts before we dig in. So other wise, I'm saying, yes I still eat my Big Mac's, but only once in a blue moon and I do a workout later to work off as much as i can from what I put into my body.

1. Lift legs, hold for 10 seconds.
2. Lift legs higher, lower them one at a time. Do 3 sets of ten.
3. Keep legs high, hold for 10 more seconds. Lift head to offer resistance.
4. Legs bent, crunch 50 times.
5. Crunch: 1-2-hold, 1-2-down.
6. Bicycle; opposite shoulder to opposite leg, for 1 minute.
7. Lift legs bent at a 90 degree angle, do twenty more crunches.

How To Say Good Bye To A Few Pounds

We all want to lose a few pound really fast and easy, and I know your looking for the BUT in what i'm saying, so instead I will just give you the best ways that really work.

1. Drink lots and lots of water.
The more water you drink = The less water weight you'll carry around on a daily basis. When you don't drink enough water (when your body is a little dehydrated) your body will hold on tight to every single little drop of water it can to stay hydrated.  If you drink plenty of water, then your body will have no problem getting rid of any excess water. Lastly, drinking water will actually help you get a flatter stomach.
 

2. Lead off eating so much salt / sodium. Or better yet, no more than 1500mg a day.
Here is a couple of ways you can flush out excess salt & water. Eating too much salt forces your body to hold onto water just to process the extra salt you eat every day. 
1)    Do anything you can to make yourself sweat (and the more the better).

Exercise and be sure to wear sweatshirts or any other warm clothing to make you sweat more. Sitting in a steam room for 10 to 15 minutes will get rid of excess salt/sodium.

2)    Then drink plenty of water to flush out excess sodium and water.

3. Try to limit the amount of carbs (carbohydrates) you eat each day.
Each pound of carbs that is stored in your body has about 3-5 pounds of water packed into it. If you don't eat too many carbs for the next two days and let the carbs stored in your body burn up for energy - the 3-5 pounds of water that was packed in it will vanish as well.

Now, you should drink at least 1/2-to-1 ounce of water per pound of body weight.
NOTE: DO NOT drink your water all at once and try to drink your water by spreading out during your day.
